Asking Jolt
What the in-app assistant can answer, where its answers come from, and the things it will not do for you.
Last checked 12/09/2026.
What it is
Jolt is the assistant behind the button in the corner of the app. It answers questions about how JoltMile works, about UK tax and mileage rules for drivers, and about your own figures.
Where its answers come from
The same Knowledge Centre you are reading, and the same constants the app calculates with. That is deliberate: it means Jolt cannot quote a mileage rate or a tax band that disagrees with the arithmetic on your Earnings tab, because there is only one copy of each.
When it tells you something about your figures, it is reading your actual shifts, not guessing.
What it will not do
- It will not file anything with HMRC, and neither will the rest of JoltMile.
- It will not give you personal tax advice. It explains rules and figures; an accountant advises.
- It will not invent a number. If it does not know, it says so and points you at the page that does.
When to email instead
Anything about your account, your billing, or something that looks broken. support@joltmile.com, and say what you expected and what you saw.
