Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 September 2026

JoltMile is a mileage, expenses and earnings tracker for UK self-employed gig drivers. It is operated by Reeksac, a business based in the United Kingdom, trading as JoltMile. You can reach us at support@joltmile.com. A postal address for the service of documents is available on request from support@joltmile.com. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.

Your account

You must be at least 18 and give accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for anything done through your account. Tell us at support@joltmile.com if you think someone else has access to it. Your records are private to your account.

Subscription and payment

  • The free tier allows up to 10 logged shifts.
  • Beyond that, a subscription costs £7.99 per month including VAT, charged in advance. Subscriptions are bought in the JoltMile app through the App Store or Google Play, which take the payment, and the store's own terms of sale apply alongside these.
  • New subscribers may be offered an introductory price of £1.99 a month for the first 2 months, on the monthly plan only. It is an App Store or Google Play introductory offer, and the store decides who it applies to and shows it before you confirm. After the second month the subscription renews at the standard price of £7.99 a month including VAT. You can cancel at any time, including during the introductory period, and you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for.
  • You may cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-months; a refund of a store payment is a matter for Apple or Google.
  • Cancelling never deletes your data. You keep access to what you have logged and can export it; you simply cannot add new shifts beyond the free limit.
  • We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you do not accept the new price, cancel before it takes effect.

As a consumer you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a new subscription. By starting the service immediately you agree it begins straight away; if you cancel within 14 days we will refund you in proportion to what you have not used.

Estimates, not tax advice

This matters more than anything else here. Every tax, mileage and earnings figure JoltMile produces is an estimate to help you plan. It assumes self-employment is your only income and that you use the simplified mileage method for your vehicle.

JoltMile is not a tax adviser, accountant or regulated financial adviser, and nothing in the app or its built-in assistant is regulated tax or financial advice. Mileage rates, tax bands and thresholds are configurable and may not match HMRC's current published figures - you are responsible for checking them against gov.uk and for the accuracy of anything you submit to HMRC. JoltMile never files anything with HMRC on your behalf.

The built-in assistant is a language model. It is given JoltMile's own Knowledge Centre and the tax figures the app calculates with, and it is told not to state a figure it has not been given, but it can still be wrong, and a wrong answer about tax is your bill, not ours. Treat what it says the way you would treat a helpful driver in a car park: a good place to start, not the last word. Check anything that matters against gov.uk. Questions about your own figures are worked out by the app itself rather than by the model, and those never leave your device. Nothing you type into it is stored.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service unlawfully, or to prepare a knowingly false or fraudulent tax return.
  • Attempt to access another user's data, or probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission.
  • Scrape the service, use it via automated means, or resell access to it.
  • Upload malware, or content that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights.
  • Overload the service or interfere with its operation.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches this, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Your data and content

You own everything you enter. You grant us only the permission needed to store, process and display it back to you as part of running the service. Export a JSON backup or delete your account and all its data at any time from Settings → Data. Deletion is irreversible. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, and what we store on your device in our Cookie Policy.

Availability

We aim to keep JoltMile available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because of a problem at a provider we depend on. Features may change, appear or be withdrawn at short notice; if we withdraw the service entirely we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data. If you meet something that looks wrong, please tell us - it is the fastest way for it to get fixed.

Liability

JoltMile is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any tax, penalty, interest or loss arising from figures produced by the app, from your reliance on them, or from any inability to access the service. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Ending these terms

You may stop using JoltMile and delete your account at any time. We may end your access with reasonable notice, or immediately if you seriously breach these terms. Export your data first - we are not obliged to keep it once an account is closed.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use JoltMile after that means you accept them.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you keep the right to bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.

If something goes wrong, please email support@joltmile.com first. We will try to resolve it within 30 days before either side takes it further.
