What is DPD Connect?
DPD's flexible option: deliver locally in your own vehicle, collecting from a nearby collection point, paid weekly per parcel. It is still being rolled out.

DPD Connect is a self-employed option for drivers who do not want to take on a franchise route. You use your own car or small van, pick your parcels up from a local collection point, deliver in your area, manage earnings in an app and are paid weekly. DPD advertises it as up to £18 an hour, which is a ceiling rather than an average.
It pays per parcel, so the hourly figure depends on how tightly the drops cluster. There is no franchise fee and no van lease.
For tax it is ordinary self-employment: turnover is what DPD pays you, your miles are claimable at 55p up to 10,000 business miles, and you file a Self Assessment return.

When each app pays you, and why the date matters for tax
Most apps pay weekly, on different days, with a fee to get it sooner. Evri pays monthly. The pay date decides how much cash you need in reserve and, at the start and end of the year, which tax year the money falls in.
