What happens if I miss a delivery on Amazon Flex?
Missing a delivery on Amazon Flex affects your standing, but you can protect your rating by following the correct return process.
Last checked 17/10/2026.
Missing a delivery or failing to deliver a parcel on Amazon Flex will affect your overall driver standing, but a small number of missed drops will not deactivate your account on their own.
When you cannot deliver a parcel because a customer is not home or you cannot access a property, you must follow the instructions in the app. Never leave a parcel in an unsafe location just to get it off your van or car.
What you must do with undelivered parcels
- Use the app to mark the parcel as undelivered and select the correct reason.
- Attempt to contact the customer through the app if the delivery window allows.
- Return any undelivered parcels back to the pickup station, usually by the time specified in your app or by mid-day the following day.
Your dashboard tracks your reliability over a rolling period. Consistently returning parcels without valid reasons or missing entire blocks will move your standing from Fantastic down to At Risk.

Amazon Flex or an Amazon delivery partner job?
There are two ways to deliver Amazon parcels. Flex is self-employed, in your own car, a block at a time. A Delivery Service Partner job is with a separate company that provides the van and usually sets a full day. They are different jobs with different tax.
