Amazon Flex mileage tracker
Amazon Flex quotes a price for the block, not for the miles the route will run. Two blocks at the same price can pay very differently once fuel comes off. JoltMile logs each block as a shift, with its miles, so you can see which ones are actually worth taking.
Why Flex blocks need tracking
A block pays a fixed amount agreed before you accept it, and it does not change if the route takes longer or runs further. The price tells you nothing about the miles. A block that sends you forty miles out of town and back costs far more to do than one that stays close to the station, for the same money.
JoltMile records each block as one shift, timed from when you started to when you finished, with the block price as the earnings. Put the miles in and it shows what that block paid per hour after fuel, insurance and tax, next to the others. The Amazon Flex pay guide goes through the sums.
Which Flex miles you can claim
Every mile from collecting at the delivery station to your last drop, and the drive back to the station if you have returns to hand in. The drive from home to the station is usually commuting, because it is a place you go regularly, and does not count. JoltMile keeps the two apart on every shift, so only the claimable ones reach the 55p rate.
Parcel miles add up quickly
Flex rounds run long. A driver doing four or five blocks a week can pass 10,000 business miles well before the end of the tax year, and every mile after that is claimed at 25p rather than 55p. JoltMile applies the drop at the right mile, so your tax estimate is right in March as well as in May.

- Is Amazon Flex worth it after costs?
- It depends on the block and your car, which is exactly what tracking shows. The is Amazon Flex worth it article works through an example.
