You need specific commercial vehicle policies to deliver parcels for DPD legally and to meet their contract rules. Standard personal car or van insurance will not cover you while you are carrying parcels for money.

DPD checks your documents before you start your rounds. Your policy must cover hire and reward, which insures you for delivering goods that belong to other people.

  • Hire and reward insurance for your vehicle
  • Goods in transit insurance to cover the value of the parcels in your back
  • Public liability insurance for accidents while dropping off at a customer property

DPD sets minimum cover limits for goods in transit. Check your onboarding agreement to make sure your policy matches their exact contract figures before you sign up.
