Can I use JoltMile on my phone and my laptop?

JoltMile is a phone app, so the shifts are logged on your phone. On a laptop you log in at joltmile.com to export your figures, add expenses from your computer and look after your account.

JoltMile is a phone app, for iPhone now and Android soon. That is where you press Start shift, log what a shift paid and read your figures, because that is where you are when it happens.

On a laptop, log in at joltmile.com with the same account. The account area there is for the jobs that suit a desk: exporting your Self Assessment figures and your mileage log, seeing any tax year at a glance, adding expenses with receipts that are already on your computer, backing up your data and managing your account. Anything you add there is on your phone straight away.

Your shifts, expenses, settings and saved postcodes live on your account, not on a device, so a new phone picks up exactly where the old one left off.

It also works with no signal: changes are queued on the device and sent when the connection comes back. If you edit the same thing on two devices while both are offline, the changes are applied in the order they reach the server. See working offline.
