How does driving for Yodel work?
Most Yodel couriers are self-employed, running local rounds and paid per parcel. Yodel has been owned by InPost since April 2025.

Yodel's home delivery couriers are mostly self-employed, running a round from a local depot in their own car or van and paid per parcel. Rates, round sizes and delivery windows are set in your contract and vary by depot, and Yodel does not publish them.
InPost bought Yodel in April 2025, making the combined business the UK's third largest parcel carrier and adding InPost's lockers to Yodel's door-to-door work. If your terms change after the takeover, read what changed, particularly any deductions and delivery-window rules.
For tax you are self-employed: register with HMRC, keep records, claim your miles at 55p up to 10,000 business miles and 25p after, and file a return. Your motor insurance must cover courier work.
