Account and billing
The free plan, what a subscription includes, how to cancel, what happens to your records afterwards, and where to find your invoices.

The free plan
Your first 10 shifts are free. Everything works: the calculations, the expenses, the backups. After 10, logging a new shift needs a subscription.
What a subscription includes
Unlimited shifts and expenses, the Self Assessment CSV and PDF exports, and every past shift readable. There is one plan and there are no add-ons.
You subscribe in the app, under More, then Subscription. On iPhone the App Store takes the payment and on Android Google Play does, and the price shown is what you actually pay, VAT included. Your receipt comes from them.
Changing or cancelling
Cancel wherever you subscribed. On iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions and choose JoltMile. On Android: open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and choose JoltMile.
Cancelling keeps your access to the end of the period you have already paid for. It never deletes anything you have logged.
What happens to your data if you stop paying
Nothing is deleted and nothing is hidden. You keep every shift, every expense, every receipt, and you can still export and back up. What you cannot do is log a new shift beyond the free 10. Somebody who logged forty shifts while subscribed and then cancelled keeps all forty.
Your subscription is a claimable expense
It is an allowable business cost, in the same way accounting software is. JoltMile adds each payment to your expenses automatically, so you never type it in. See the subscription expense.
Signing in with Apple or Google
The app offers Sign in with Apple and Continue with Google beside email and a password, so you can run the account off your Apple ID or a Google address instead of a password. The same sign-in works in your account on joltmile.com, and lands in the same account.
Creating an account that way asks you to agree to the Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy first, then hands over to Apple or Google, which is where you see what it shares with JoltMile. Apple can hide your email address behind a relay address; the account then lives under that address, and sign-in still works the same way.
Changing your email or password
Both are in More, then your name at the top, in the app, and in Settings in your account on joltmile.com. An email change is confirmed twice, once from the old address and once from the new, so somebody who gets into your account cannot quietly move it to their own.
Forgotten your password? Use the reset link on the sign-in screen. It arrives by email and it expires.
Deleting your account
In the app under More, then your name, or in Settings in your account on joltmile.com. It removes your shifts, expenses, receipts, saved postcodes, settings and profile. It is immediate and cannot be undone, so export a backup first if you might want the records - and you may well need them, because HMRC expects records kept for five years after the filing deadline.
Refunds
A refund on an App Store or Google Play subscription is the store's decision rather than ours: ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google through the Play Store. For anything else that has gone wrong with a payment, email support@joltmile.com with the date and the amount.
